Q: Disabled sign on restart page

my MacBook Pro has been screwing up lately. I turned it on today and after the Apple load screen it went straight to light grey screen with a dark grey disabled sign. The only way to move from this page is to turn the book of my MacBook Pro has been screwing up lately.     Hey Hannahrae24,

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities.

     

    It sounds like your MacBook Pro isn't starting up normally, OS X isn't starting up normally anymore because a prohibitory symbol is displayed. If you haven't already, try reinstalling OS X as described in the article below. 

    About the screens you see when your Mac starts up - Apple Support

    Prohibitory symbol

    When you see a circle with a slash symbol instead of the Apple logo, it means your Mac couldn't find a valid System Folder to start up from.

    If you're using your Mac at a school or business, it might be trying to start from the wrong version of OS X. Contact your IT department for more help. 

    If this is your personal Mac, try reinstalling OS X by using OS X Recovery.
