Jan 12, 2016 3:23 PM in response to James Cudeby leslie_w,Thanks James,
My issue isn't with Youtube's uploading but with Compressor's Exporting. Sorry if I was confusing in my OP. I'll eventually have to meet Youtube's settings if I wish to share via their site. However, if I wish to display and share my video for offline, I dont understand why I need to scale down the original footage on export.
I can't find any documentation or posts related to maximum pixel width on Compressor and wondering if it is a bug or if its another issue.

Jan 12, 2016 3:30 PM in response to leslie_wby Russ H,How are you bringing this into Compressor?
If you want, upload a few seconds to Dropbox so we can test. I'm running out to a meeting but will be able to test it later.

Jan 13, 2016 9:04 AM in response to leslie_wby leslie_w,Hey Russ,
I've made some progress with this issue.
Apparently the H264 codec has some limitations on image resolution sizes. According to what I was told, the max size might be 4096x2304. I'm not 100% confident as I've been able to successfully export a 4197x2160 as well as a 4698x1999 video.
It could explain why I'm getting fails, still doing some more research.
Hopefully this helps someone else down the line.
