Q: Issues installing El Capitan on an mid-2011 iMac 27in-i7 ?

I'm trying to install El Capitan on my Mid-2011- 27in iMac w/ 16GB RAM, 250GB SSD- Intel Core i7-Quad Core @ 3.4GHz.

Every time i download EC, and try to do the install, it returns that the El Captain Installation "file is corrupted or may have been tampered with while downloading".

This has happened every attempt despite all trouble shooting efforts including clean install attempts. I think there is something at issue with the hardware. Any ideas?

iMac, Mac OS X (10.7.2), i7 Quad, with SSD and internal 1GB

First do you have enough free space on your disc.

Have you done a 'verify' on your disk using Disk Utility.

Switch off any unnecessary Anti-Virus nonsense.

    Good

Once the download is complete, and before you install look in your

Applications folder for Install Mac OS X El Capitan.app.

If you find it make sure it is 6.09 Gbs (approx) in size.

If so make a copy of it on a USB stick or other external media, saves you having to download it again.

Now double click the Install app, what happens.

Met all that criteria... Was working with very helpful person from tier two support. After many attempts, we got it to work with  10.11.2.
