Q: I have problem with connecting new gen 3 ATV to my wifi network. This device is to be used for upstairs TV . I have an older gen 3 device installed in downstairs TV . I have followed instructions but will not connect.

I have just purchased new gen 3 ATV. To be installed in upstairs TV. Cannot connect to Wifi network. I have followed instructions for installation, the network is OK for other devices. Have older gen 3 ATV in downstairs TV in operation. Is there a problem with having 2 ATVS on same network or am I missing something ??

Apple TV, OS X Yosemite (10.10.5)

Thanks for your response. But all is now well. In the meantime I resorted to resetting the ATV, which cured the ills it had.

No idea what was up but it now is working fine .

Howdy Keithfromsubiaco,

I enjoy having Apple TVs on my TVs as well and have one upstairs and downstairs. Both work fine, not a problem having both on the same network.

Having gone through the normal installation process, I would then recommend stepping through this article.
Get help with Wi-Fi networks on your Apple TV - Apple Support

Note you will want to test after each step.

What happens that you cannot connect? Do you not see the network to pick it? Does it not like your password? Where in the setup do you get stuck?
Having multiple ATV's on the same network is not a problem.

Hey Vinceassociate,

Thanks for taking the time to respond. The problem whatever it was is fixed. I took heed of the instructions and when all else failed I reset. And it all worked as it should. But to answer your question. When I tried to set up the ATV could not connect to my network which I knew was 'AOK as my other ATV worked fine in the 2nd TV.
