I understand that you are having issues with purchased music for the iTunes Store. Let's see if we can get this sorted out.
The first thing I would look at is to see if you can delete the songs from iTunes. I know you said that the songs look grey but try to delete them. If you can, then you will want to download the songs again from the iTunes Store. Take look at the two articles below to walk you through deleting content as well as downloading past purchases.

If you are still in the same situation, then your next bet would be to report the issue to the iTune Store to have them look at it. The steps for this is going to be in the next article.
