Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
I understand that you're having an issue with signing in and connecting to the iTunes Store on your Mac Pro. To start with troubleshooting this issue, I suggest that you follow through the steps outlined below.
On your Mac or PC
If you can't connect to the iTunes Store on your computer, a software conflict or your Internet service provider (ISP) might be blocking your access. The steps below might help you fix the issue.
Mac
- Make sure that you have the latest versions of iTunes and Safari.
- If you have a firewall, your settings might prevent you from connecting to the iTunes Store. Learn how to configure your firewall.
- Connection issues are occasionally caused by keychain issues. Use Keychain First Aid to reset your keychain.
- If you see a specific error message, get more help with fixing the issue.
If there's still an issue after you try the steps above, contact your Internet service provider and confirm that these ports and servers are turned on for your network.
If you can’t connect to the iTunes Store
Take care.

Jan 15, 2016 9:42 AM in response to burlin1by Christopher Noyes,Same issue here. Neither iTunes or the App Store app can connect to Apple. Otherwise internet connection is good. I suspect this is a certificate issue, but as usual Apple is staying silent on the issue (other than these un-helpful responses that are cut and paste from Apple's knowledge base). I'm going to try delving more deeply into Keychain and it's cert store. Maybe deleting some certificates related to itunes will help force a download of a new cert.

Jan 15, 2016 9:47 AM in response to Christopher Noyesby Christopher Noyes,OK, I found a couple of verisign certs in keychain under "login" that were itunes and app store related. I deleted them, rebooted the mac and reloaded itunes and the app store app and they are now connecting.
