Q: My macbook is giving a blank screen when starting--PLEASE HELP

I have tried everything to get my mac to start. I can see the screen light up but it stays blank. I have tried resetting the SMC which didn't work. I can't log in under safe mode because the jingle doesn't come on so I can't try that. I did notice the little light on the side indicating the computer is on will turn off when the lid is open. It will light back up when I close the lid.

WHAT CAN I DO TO FIX THIS? It was working fine last night.

Thanks to anyone who can help me!!!

MacBook, iOS 9.2

Sounds as if you have a hardware problem. Please make an appointment at the Apple Retail Store - Genius Bar and take it in for service. If you are not in the USA or cannot set up an appointment this way, then contact your local Apple Store directly.

In the future please provide more complete descriptions of your hardware. Furthermore, do you actually have a MacBook or is it a MacBook Pro. Include the version of OS X that it is running.
