Thank You handoff seemed to work for me too. I really do hope  does something about this. especially since they sell BT speakers like crazy

I tried these instructions and my MBP was still having dropouts trying to play to my Boombox.

Did some testing and it really does come down to OSX having trouble maintaining a stream to a bluetooth device.

I'm now using my iPhone to stream to the Boombox and it is working sweet.

Apple - please fix the OSX bluetooth.

Same for me.   Tried all of these as well...   So the hamsters started to run a bit faster and it occurred to me to reset the speaker.

Step 1: remove paired Bluetooth Speaker ("Bose Mini SounLink" in my case) from "Bluetooth Preferences"

    Step 2: reset speaker

    Perform a product reset

To perform a SoundLink® speaker reset, following these steps:

    1. On the speaker, press and hold Mute for 10 seconds, the LEDs will flash briefly
    2. Press Power to turn the SoundLink® speaker back on

    http://worldwide.bose.com/productsupport/en_us/web/troubleshooting_soundlink_mob ile_pairing_connecting/page.html

Step 3: Turn on speaker and pair normally.

Working flawlessly now for about an hour....... fingers crossed.

    Bluetooth continues to drop out

Like many before I have been scrolling through many previous forums and have tried all of the listed remedies to solve the issue of my Bluetooth devices dropping in and out. Like many, I am becoming increasingly frustrated and super fed up with this issue and the fact that the problem does not seem to be able to be rectified and stay that way.

I use a Bluetooth mouse and a Bluetooth UE Boom 2 speaker and they are forever dropping out or are just not discoverable.

I have tried powering down my Mac, resetting the SMC, deleting the Bluetooth plist and everything else listed on the community forums and still my Bluetooth does not work correctly.

Hopefully Apple gets a fix out to us ASAP as it is ridiculous how far back you can read and see the same issues. Lift your game apple!
