    Hi Angmcknight,

    The information below is for Apple TV (4th generation), but it applies to all previous versions as well.   The Apple TV plugs into the HDMI port of your television.  Some televisions have more than one HDMI port.  To switch between ports you would need to use the remote control for your TV and find the Source or Input Source button.  You can usually toggle between your TV and whatever devices you have plugged into it.  Check your TV User Manual for more details.
