TThere is no save function. The app auto saves a backup approximately every 15 minutes depending on what's done.

    There is no save command.

Like many other apps, the work is saved as you edit. (Think Apple Mail and drafts.) If your system goes south while you're editing, chances are that nearly all of your work will have been preserved.

FCP also creates a time stamped backup version of your library.

    Hi Lutz,

I just too started to (re)use FCPX and needed to refresh my knowledge. I can recommend you to do the same.

Tip: I studied Lessons for Final Cut Pro X by Ripple Training.com, and followed the lessons by Steve Martin and Mike Spencer. You have to buy that training. Problem I had in the past, and now again, that I can hardly understand Steve Martin (talks very fast and unclear), Mike Spencer is better, but Steve does the most talking - they do their best, but it is hard to learn from that Lessons.

English is not my first language, so it is important for me to get clear instructions.

Then.... tatatataaaa.... I discovered trainings by YouTube. Great, much better, much clearer, much more helpful, and for free. Here are two URL's to use.

this one is very helpful, although very basic, but with a great inventory added to find back special items.

this one gives a great overview of alle functions, much better than RippleTraining

Looked at a few bits in the tutorials. Happened to hit on some bad information in the second tutorial. Around 30:17 he describes how to reposition text on the screen. You should not use the transform function for this. You should use the target button in the OSC to move to the text.

Haven't looked all of them, but be careful of YT tutorials. There are many of them, many quite obsolete, and many with poor information. You get what you pay for.

    Hi:

Thank you so much for your suggestion. I will check it out.  It does sound, according to Tom's note, that there may be a few problems, but, nevertheless, it's something to look at to help get some bearings.

P.S. My first language was German, then Spanish and lastly, English. What is yours?
