Jan 8, 2016 7:26 PM in response to Vikingsfan12by Vikingsfan12,I'm not sure of the supervisor's name that I talked to but, from my previous response I was able to get a replacement to my device. I did get mad at them also told them it was the hardware inside the phone. They were able to replace it even, when it was out of warranty and for free as well. It also had a problem with the headphone jack and a scratch down the middle. If, you have problems they can help you. I went from a 4S to a 5S and have made many purchases from itunes so, it proved I am a customer worth keeping.

Hello,
this happened to me as well!
I upgraded my phone last week. Last Friday the phone crashed and wouldn't boot for a few minutes while i was in a call. The phone's screen became whiter and whiter while the rest of the displayed screen that had frozen faded away.
This morning it happened again after the phone had worked all weekend. The main difference now is that it is stuck in a boot loop. The phone begins to boot, after perhaps 1 minute, before the OS is loaded, the screen becomes blue and then different strange patterns fades in on the screen in different colors.
I managed to break the boot-loop and got the device in DFU mode, tried restoring and i have managed to do it twice (out of perhaps 30 failed attempts). Once i tried restoring from backup, the last time i tried as a new phone but it didn't help. Right after the installation guide and after the home screen displayed, it crashed again. Now it's looping.
I don't know what to to, i can't imagine that an update could create an hardware error but this sure seems like a HW error. I don't know what to to. It feels wrong that i should have to replace my barely 2 year old phone after a software update...
this EXACT same scenario was what I did! did all of the above, took it to Apple as well, the device was BARELY over it's 2 year mark. They had no explanation, nor help, and wanted me to purchase a new one. The phone is in fantastic physical condition and an update ruined it. A brick now. I now have a 6 which I am petrified to update, (shell shocked even). I honestly am wondering if this is a conspiracy to force us to upgrade!

Jan 13, 2016 2:44 AM in response to surfingxpby ZezualMatrix,Hello,
Here another iPhone 5S with the same problem... Randomly BSOD and Reboot.... No pattern.. In Idle, at charge, heavy use... maybe OK for 1 day, what 4 times in 5 minutes....
This is a joke???? Apple not say anything for this problem??

Jan 13, 2016 3:13 AM in response to ZezualMatrixby wujc,I went to Apple support in UK and the tech guy just said if it is a bluescreen then it is hardware problem and you need to pay for the headset replacement. I told him others are having the same issues after updating to iOS 9.2. He just said it is not common here and replacement is my only option because my warranty period has passed. I'm not happy with their service as they do not even bother to actually check further.
If I had not updated to iOS 9.2. I would still be using my iPhone5S and my daily life will not be interrupted by this inconveniences.

Jan 18, 2016 11:48 AM in response to surfingxpby Grimmm1914,I have had the same issue with the Blue Screen of death, and then rebooting with my iPhone 5s. I thought it was my battery so I had that replaced. The issue did not resolve itself. I'm not sure if it began when I upgraded to 9.2 or not, but I did upgrade to 9.2. I only noticed it once I switched from AT&T to T-Mobile. I found some articles that found others who have had the same issue with T-Mobile, but that doesn't seem logical to me. Anyone found a solution to this besides replacing the phone?

Jan 18, 2016 6:35 PM in response to Grimmm1914by DrJimT,As I reported a couple of weeks ago, I had the BSOD issue chronically Immediately after installing iOS 9.2 on my iPhone 5S. I followed various advice from this list and the problem continued. So I backed up to iTunes on my PC, deleted the most recently installed app (Bitmoji), and reinstalled iOS 9.2. I've had one BSOD since then, restarted my phone and have had none since. My carrier is Consumer Cellular, which I think piggybacks on AT&T.

Jan 30, 2016 9:21 AM in response to alexia34frby Crazy alpha male,i had the exact same problem , but im sure that this is not a hardware problem because i dont think that a device running on an ios for a few days and then falls down and crash is a hardware issue.
what i belive is this is the fall of apple,
i have seen thousand thousands of people heading to samsungs stores and from the bottom of they heart they said ill never buy an apple stupid devices again..............i mean its an ocean of bug in every single aspect .

Feb 3, 2016 9:05 PM in response to Crazy alpha maleby DrJimT,Follow-up to my earlier posts: It's been 4 weeks since I reinstalled iOS 9.2.1. (See my posting of Jan 18, 2016 6:35 PM) No BSOD. No more problems. I don't know the cause of the original problem, but it's gone. No need to get a new iPhone or any other brand. My 5S is working just fine.

Feb 5, 2016 10:26 PM in response to surfingxpby KH2NYC,Same thing happened to me. After updating to iOS 9.2.1. my phone would go into reboot loop with a blue screen. I tried several restores and it would work for a day or two, in the end only for an hour or two.
Took it to the Apple store where they told me it was hardware and out of warranty by a month, please note that it is a 5 month old replacement phone. They told me I can pay $269 and get a new phone....I laughed. They just want you to buy a new phone.
I didn't give up and decided to go to another Apple store. After reading some of the posts here, I asked if it could be firmware and the answer was yes. He put it in DFU mode and then restored it. He explained that it is more comprehensive and than a regular restore. So far so good, I will post if it starts rebooting again.

Feb 7, 2016 5:40 AM in response to grooveliteby Trojan.Horse,Exactly I Agree with you Groovelite. Today I went to the Apple Service centre with exact the issue which you've mentioned. Spoke with the So Called "Apple engineer". They said there's problem with the logic board. What's the issue they cannot state. All they can offer is exchange with cash. They Said pay Rs. 23000 INR and get new one. Wow! What a service from the so called Best company.Pathetic on their part. Worst is they charge me for the service for restoring it which they were unsuccessful to do.

Feb 7, 2016 5:56 AM in response to Trojan.Horseby KH2NYC,Mine is still working after the DFU mode restore which is different from a regular restore. It wipes out everything on the phone including what could have been a corrupt update/firmware not just the software. If you haven't tried it make sure you do that.
http://www.engadget.com/2011/05/25/iphone-101-what-is-dfu-mode-and-whats-the-dif ference-from-rec/
All genius bars are not the same, the first one told me it was logic board and the second store told me it can be firmware.
I couldn't even use my phone for two weeks it would reboot and not stop unless I did a restore or the battery drained.
