Q: In Numbers, has anyone rotated the text within a cell?

Hi Everyone,

In Numbers, does anyone know how to rotate text within a cell; this is not Text Box?

My Office friends can do this in Excel and I need to use an Excel file which has this attribute.

Thank You!

Unfortunately Numbers can't rotate cell within a text the way Excel can.

The closest you can get is to use the methods described in Ian's user tip, which use text boxes.

OK - Thank You - I already started with converting the areas with Text Boxes so good for now.

Do you know if Apple will enhance Numbers with this feature?  If you do not know, no problem.

Thank You for responding - Have a Great Day!!

None of us know what Apple's plans are.  Perhaps you could give Apple feedback via your menu Numbers > Provide Numbers Feedback.  Given the higher number of views of Ian's user tip, I suspect many users would appreciate being able to rotate text within cells.  Your feedback may help.

BTW, if you haven't already, perhaps you could try the workarounds in the user tip.  They can save you some time setting up the text boxes.

    Thanks for the green tick!
