Q: Transferring data from Mac to Mac

Hi I just bought a new Mac desk top and I am trying to move the contents from my old Macbook by using Migration assistant and utilising the capsule.  It states that there is 55 hours remaining! So my question is, would connecting the two computers via thunderbolt be faster?

I am not sure where the capsule fits into this.. the fastest port on it is the ethernet (gigabit).

Mac to Mac thunderbolt should be much faster.. but it does take time to move files, and if the laptop has a spinning drive.. ethernet is just as fast.

    Wireless is always the worst..

And if your laptop is missing ethernet then thunderbolt to thunderbolt is excellent. However thunderbolt cables are ridiculous price. It can still be cheaper to buy a thunderbolt to ethernet adapter and an ethernet patch cable.. which are a few dollars.. all up it is cheaper than a longish thunderbolt cable.
