Q: Install Yosemite along side El Capitain
My friend has a non retina Macbook Pro and currently has El Capitain installed. Her school requires her to use some browser software called LockDown that prevents her from cheating on online quizzes, test etc. It however; is incompatible with El Capitan so she must downgrade. My question is, is it possible to repartition the drive and install a lower OS version alongside El Capitain like Yosemite? or must I just go the traditional manual route and wipe everything and do a fresh install of yosemite. My reason for wanting to do this is because she has a 500gb drive that is not nearly full so it would be easier than having to back up her files, I can just leave that partition in tact and whenever she requires her school software she can just boot into Yosemite.
Thanks
MacBook Pro, OS X El Capitan (10.11.3)

On that Mac model, it's possible. Back up the data anyway; the computer's internal drive will eventually fail.
