One thing I noticed today was that if it quit charging, if I unplugged the charger from the wall & plugged it back in, it started to charge again...? I had previously read to clean it with a stainless steel cleaner so I've already been there, done that...

I've tried different plugs, different chargers, different angles, letting it die & recharging it, etc. I'm trying to find out if someone out there has had a similar experience & it turned out to be something small i.e. the magsafe port instead of something huge like a failing logic board...

I have seen once that it was inside the mac, never a it was the charger (once the charger but it did nothing at all), once it was a very bad oem battery, more often the soft brush and compressed air solved it.
Oh and forgot: never a problem of the wall outlet, and once damage inside the cable close to the small connector.

Jan 21, 2016 7:16 AMby Lexiepex,charger you can checked with another, cable also I presume, wall outlet tested, resetting SMC did not solve anything.
Did you ever replace the battery?
Can you check in SystemInformation (in Utilities) under "power" in the left navigation panel, two values under Battery Information in the right panel:
"cycle count " and "condition".
I think the cleaning is done not perfect: do it again. Use compressed air also.
