What app are you speaking of? The most general answer is to simply quit using what ever app you hate so much - same advice as the Dr gave when the patient said it hurts when I do this - Dr says then don't do it anymore

This was meant for Photos for mac.It is a useless and invasive app.Went to apple about shutting it down but they say you can't.If you are not careful it will take your aperture library and iphoto library.

Again simply do not use it - and it is impossible for it to ever

take your aperture library and iphoto library.

If you do not use it nothing can ever happen - and even if you do use it and give it permission to migrate your old library all it does is create a totally new Photos library and never makes any change of any sort to the original iPhoto or Aperture library

and yes since it is part of the OS it is not safe to remove it - just do not use it

And BTW it most certainly is not a useless or an invasive application - it is a very nice and useful application with many neat and useful advances from iPhoto

You are welcome to your weird opinions but your opinions are clearly not fact, are incorrect  and are not based on reality

While the card is connected and Photos is open uncheck the box in the  upper left to open Photos when this device is connected

or simply ignore it or file menu ==> quit Photos

Guess what, ever time you reformat the card or use a card from a different device the program opens again.I have been thru the uncheck the box thing. It doesn't work.Don't you think there is something wrong with the way apple is forcing this program on it's OS users. And yes it took my aperture library when I first opened it under yosEemite and thought I was just going to take a quick look at a new program.I was glad I had just back up aperture to its vault.
