Q: Pictures in iCloud

i had a one on one session with someone at Apple Store today and asked a question about photo streaming because I didn't understand what it did. So She went into my iCloud on my Mac to explain and I am not sure what she did but all of a sudden I saw personal pictures pop up that I had deleted from my iPhone awhile ago. She closed the screen immediately because they were embarrassing.  I just went into iCloud to look for those pictures and I couldn't find them. My question is why did pictures that deleted from my iPhone show up on my iCloud ? And second question is why am I not able to find them now ?

It is possible the employee turned on Photo Stream on your iPhone -- My Photo Stream FAQ - Apple Support.  Try turning it back on if they turned it off, and also turning on iCloud Photo Library.

But if i deleted pictures from the iphone several weeks ago, why should they appear on the icloud now?  isn't the icloud supposed to sync automatically ? The pictures were taken and then deleted within an hour  of taking it.  Does the icloud sync automatically when my lap top is on wifi or do i actually have to physically go  to icloud for the syncing to happen?
