Q: Cannot Connect to iTunes Store on iOS9 After Restart

On my iPhone 6s immediately after I restart, I get a message  "cannot connect to iTunes store". This happens every time I restart the phone, and if I open the iTunes store it is fine. Furthermore, this never happens after a restart with my iPhone 4s running iOS9. Any ideas. The message is annoying more than anything.

iPhone 6s, iOS 9.2.1

    Hi BertingAP,

If you are getting an iTunes error message immediately upon restarting your iPhone, here are a few things I would suggest.

First, check to see if you have Automatic downloads turned on in Settings > iTunes & App Stores.

Also, check to see if there is a download that has not completed.

Next, check your billing information for the iTunes Store.  (You may need to re-enter credit card security code or expiration date when you do this.)

Finally, sign out of your iTunes Store account, restart the iPhone and sign back in.

Please reply and let us know if the issue still persists after trying these steps.

Here is some additional information regarding the suggestions above.

    Automatic Downloads

    Resume interrupted iTunes Store downloads

Change or remove your Apple ID payment information

    Hope that helps ...

Thanks Judysings, I have automatic downloads turned on, my billing info is correct, I have signed out of iTunes and restarted, and signed back in and then restarted again with the same message, cannot connect to iTunes store. One thing, when I look at available downloads, there are always 5 songs which when I tap on "download all" it does so in 2 seconds. I get this with each restart.

I took my phone to the Apple Genius Bar, where a technician looked at it and told me not to worry about it, it's not a problem.

This is true, but it annoys me.

    Hi BertingAP,

Thanks for the update.  I'm not sure if those 5 songs are the issue, but I would delete the songs and turn off the automatic downloads.  Then restart the iPhone and see if the issue persists.

    Take care,

Did that. Unfortunately the issue of "cannot connect to iTunes store" warning after restart persists.
