    Hi Ali305,

I understand you are not hearing text message notifications on your iPhone.  Is this only happening for text messages, or are you having issues with other sounds on your device?

If you hear no sound or distorted sound from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch speaker

If the issue is only happening with text messages, take a look at the resource below for managing and troubleshooting notifications:

Use Notifications on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch

Notifications from apps on your iOS device can have these styles:

    • Sounds/Vibrate: A sound alert plays.

If you don't want these types of alerts, you can turn them off. Go to Settings > Privacy > Location Services > System Services and tap the alerts and services you want to turn off. Learn more about Location Services.

With iOS, different alerts let you act quickly on texts, emails, calendar invitations, reminders, Messages, and more.

    Change Notifications settings

Some apps like email or social media apps send frequent notifications, which might affect battery life. If you have Show on Lock Screen turned on for notifications, this also might affect battery life.

To turn off or change notifications, go to Settings > Notifications and select the app. You can also sort your alerts by most recent, order them manually, or group them based on the app.

If you don't see notifications for a specific app

To get notifications, you need to be connected to a Wi-Fi or cellular network. If you’re not getting notifications for a specific app, try these steps:

    1. Make sure that the app supports notifications. Go to Settings > Notifications, select the app, and make sure that Notifications are turned on.
    2. Make sure that you’re signed in to your Apple ID on your iOS device. Go to Settings > iTunes & App Stores and enter your Apple ID and password.
    3. Make sure that Do Not Disturb is turned off. Go to Settings > Do Not Disturb and tap Manual if it's turned on.
    4. If you’ve recently installed an app or restored from a backup, open the app to start getting notifications.

Notifications use Wi-Fi only when a cellular connection is unavailable. Firewalls and proxy servers might affect your ability to receive notifications. Get help using Apple Push Notification service (APNs)

    Take care,

I get notifications sometimes, but most of the times I don't.  I don't think it's happening with voice messages.

    Thank you for your help.
