Q: How do I disable all controls on the lock screen?

I keep my iPhone 6 in my pocket and I have a problem with features activating inside my pocket despite the phone being locked.  I'll bend over and hear Siri suddenly talking to me or music start playing from my pants.  While amusing the first few times, it is now quite annoying.  I want a locked phone to be LOCKED and ignore all commands except unlock. Please DO NOT suggest that the problem is keeping my phone in my pocket!

In case others are having the same problem, I'll include what I've tried so far.  I've partially solved the problem.

What I've tried so far (iOS 9.2):

Settings / Control Center / Access on Lock screen : OFF

Settings / Touch ID & Passcode / Allow access when locked:  Today, Notifications, Siri:  OFF

What is still on the lock screen:

The controls for the music/audiobook player are still on the lock screen.

How do I turn these controls off while the phone is locked?

Suggestion:

Put all the lock screen settings in a single folder instead of splitting them in multiple places.

    Greetings Voripteth,

Thanks for using the Apple Support Communities!

From your question, it sounds like you would like to disable the Control Center on the Lock Screen as well. If this is correct, the following article will explain how to disable access to Control Center while on the Lock Screen.

Use Control Center on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch - Apple Support

    Have a great day!

Thanks for your reply.  Actually I have been able to turn off the Control Center.  I referred to that in the What I've tried so far section.  Unfortunately iOS puts up a second set of media player button on the top of the screen while in lock mode.  (Why!?)  I'm looking for a way to prevent those buttons from working while locked. Just last night I sat down in my car and my audio-book started playing on my iPhone while still in my pants.  <Sigh>

I have found that if you pause the music or audio-book before locking the phone the controls won't be visible on the lock screen. This of course wouldn't be a viable option if you still want to be listening to something, but it should avoid the books starting to play when you sit down. -AJ

I normally pause the player before locking the phone.  Unfortunately this doesn't always prevent the player controls from appearing.  Sometimes I can press the lock button and then the home button and the play controls appear on the top section of the lock screen.  When I go out to my car when leaving work, the lock screen tells me how long it will take to get home and shows the player controls.  I sit down in the car and my phone starts playing in my pocket, nearly every time.

Does your phone connect to Bluetooth in your car? I am not sure it is the cause, but felt it might be worth mentioning as a possibility (at least for the car occurances).

I was able to reproduce the issue before going out to my car so bluetooth isn't part of the issue. I tried various button combinations to see if I could get the play buttons to appear.  Press Lock, Press Home, repeat.  For many tries everything worked correctly in that no media player buttons were displayed.  At one point I pressed both home and lock and took a screenshot.  Next sequence, the play button appeared!  I locked the phone again and then unlocked it and the play button was still there.  I tried repeating this sequence and while it isn't 100% reproducible I was able to get it to show the player controls several times. I have seen mystery screen shots on my camera roll as well so we can add "no screenshots" to the actions that shouldn't be allowed when the phone is locked.

I'm thinking I've run into a genuine OS bug since the phone seems to do the right thing most of the time but fails in certain circumstances.

It gets better.  I go out to my car and once again see the player buttons appear once I start my car up.  It does seem to always show up when bluetooth connects.  This time I do want to play my audiobook but the play button does nothing.  I open my audiobook library and see zero books.  O.o  I was just playing a book earlier this morning and did not delete anything.  I power cycled the phone just in case it was some sort of temporary glitch.  On restart, all books and music files on my phone were gone!  I power cycled a second time but the iPhone insisted that I had no files.

At home I used iTunes to sync my iPhone with my computer to restore my files.  Interestingly enough the position of the audiobook I had been listening to in the morning was saved even though my last sync was over a week.  Clearly the iPhone kept some knowledge of the playback position even though it thought the library was empty.  <sigh>  I'll report back if the files disappear again.

I have a similar question/problem. I use my iPhone as my music player when I'm running, connected to bluetooth headphones. I'll keep the phone in a case on my running belt. If the home button gets bumped then the music controls are on the screen, and as I keep running all sorts of strange things happen because it thinks I'm constantly tapping the screen. I wish there were a little slider that could completely lock all functions on the phone. At a minimum I would like no controls on the lock screen, because the odds that the screen would aberrantly detect a slide along the bottom of the screen and then the 4 digit password is nil.
