You can't actually connect these two device via bluetooth. You can use a charging cable.

Jan 21, 2016 3:02 PM in response to brifast99by ChrisJ4203,Even attempting to use the iPhone as a hotspot, you do not pair the phone in that manner. You turn on Bluetooth and it should be located. See this support document about setting up your device as a hotspot and using Bluetooth to connect. Just one hint though, using Bluetooth to connect for hotspot is not going to give you the best speeds. I would consider wi-fi or a direct connection with USB and lightning.
