Q: Downloads from Apple...

I have a couple of downloads waiting in my App Store icon that I don't want because I no longer use the software. One is a child's game - Lola's Beach Puzzle and the other is Bitdefender Virus Scanner. Can you tell me how to remove these, please? Thank you.

Mac mini, OS X Mavericks (10.9.3), This happened without my knowledge.
