Q: iCal not syncing from MacBook to iPhone 6

For years I have used iCal on my macbook pro, iPad and iPhone and never have had a syncing issue. 

My husband calendar shares with me also from his devices.     My phone syncs all calendar items he enters from his phone.

When I create a calendar event on my macbook pro - my husband gets them on his phone - but I do not.

If i create an event on my iPhone 6,  i DO receive it on my macbook.

So this is telling me my macbook is not sending it out to iCloud.   I have not changed any settings.

I have checked everything and it appears correct (again, it worked for years).

Today, I did download the latest update on my macbook - thinking maybe it would help and it did not.

I also did something i saw on another thread - where the cloud settings were reset basically. 

What would cause this and how do I fix it?  I am dying without my calendar on my phone!
