Jan 23, 2016 3:04 PM in response to GuidoSchererby Niel,You can't. An external drive plugged into the Time Capsule will be considered a separate volume instead of adding to the capacity of the internal one.

Jan 23, 2016 3:24 PM in response to GuidoSchererby Bob Timmons,How Do I make the Mac identify this as an additional extension to the time capsule?
Sorry, but you cannot do this. The additional hard drive will always appear as a separate volume.
In other words, if you are backing using Time Machine, ti will start a complete new backup the first time that it backs up the drive attached to the Time Capsule.

Jan 23, 2016 3:32 PM in response to GuidoSchererby Mike's Pad,While you cannot use a Time Capsule UBS connected drive to extend the capacity of the internal drive, what you can do is use it (stand alone) for Time Machine backups. 8TB is a lot of capacity. Connect it to the Time Capsule, use it for your backups and "forget" about extending the capacity of the internal drive.
