Take the SIM out and reseat it again

iMessage and FaceTime use SMS messages to Apple's activation servers in the UK.

If you're using an unsupported carrier, it may not be able to activate.

Please answer the question. Are you using a supported carrier?

And what carrier would that be? In what country?

Then contact them. If your account is not properly provisioned for an iPhone, activation may not work. I'm guessing you never bothered to tell them you have an iPhone now.
