If you are using a third-party app to record your activity, check that you have ended the workout in the app.
Otherwise, it may help to try these steps:
Close all open apps on your iPhone:
- Double-press on the Home button, then swipe up on each app preview.
Restart both your iPhone and your watch:
- Turn both devices off together, then restart your iPhone first:
- To turn your watch off: press and hold the side button until you see the Power Off slider; drag it to turn off;
- To turn it on: press and hold the side button until you see the Apple logo.

- Update the software on your Apple Watch - Apple Support
Check also that your personal information has been entered accurately:
- On your iPhone, in the Watch app, go to: My Watch (tab) > Health > Edit (upper-right).
You may also wish to calibrate your watch, which will enable it to make more accurate estimations, including for Exercise goal progress.
