Thanks for using the Apple Support Communities!
I understand that the casing had been coming apart on your iPhone 5c, which was repaired by an Apple Retail Store. During the time that the case was separated, you noticed an issue where you were unable to end the call by pressing the button to end the call on the display. If this problem wasn’t resolved by the repair on the iPhone, there are a couple of troubleshooting steps I would like you to work through.
First, close the Phone application completely. The following article explains this process.
Force an app to close in iOS - Apple Support
After Phone has been closed, proceed with the instructions in the next article.
Check your touchscreen
Make sure that your hands are clean and dry, then try these steps:
- If you have a case or screen protector on your device, try removing it.
- Clean the screen with a soft, slightly damp, lint-free cloth.
- Unplug your device.
- Restart your device. If you can't restart it, you can force restart your device.
If your touchscreen still doesn't respond like it should, contact Apple Support or take your device to an Apple Retail Store or Apple Authorized Service Provider.
If the screen on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch doesn't respond to touch - Apple Support
If the issue continues, please provide more information about the situation. Does this section of the touchscreen work as expected on the home screen or in other apps or is it isolated to only ending a call in the Phone app?
Have a great day!
