Q: A Bluetooth Keyboard is spamming my computer with pairing requests

I need to use bluetooth for my keyboard and magic mouse.

I've tried removing the Bluetooth.plist file.  I've tried using the remove option that shows when you hold down alt and click the bluetooth icon.  I've tried editing the plist to add an IgnoreDevices section.  None of them work whether I reboot or not.

I have no idea whose device this is.  I suspect it belongs to some random person in my building who is not aware the the device is behaving badly.  It pretty much makes bluetooth unusable on my machine and that's not okay with me.

Um, help?

MacBook Pro with Retina display, OS X Mavericks (10.9.5), null

    Bluetooth devices automatically search....

Go to system preferences>Bluetooth. The "spamming" device should be there. Delete it.

Additionally, I would reset the PRAM and SMC (probably will not do anything, but cannot hurt).

Since the optimum range of BT devices is 30' (10 meters) - reduced by walls, etc., the device must be close.

Sadly, this advice comes up everywhere from a Google search on this subject.

    And it doesn't work.

I've repeatedly deleted the offending keyboard.  Thirty seconds later it's trying to pair again.  This is occurring in an office building with several companies.  We've already checked in our own office and have not found it.

I guess there is nothing I can do except to abandon my bluetooth keyboard and mouse or track down the offending keyboard and get them to turn it off.
