Use these instructions to troubleshoot the kernel panic:

    https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT200553

These are software candidates that may be causing the problem:

    Screen Shot 2016-01-25 at 4.12.26 PM.png

Delete them ans see if the panics stop.

    Ciao.

Thanks, could you tell me where I could find these files? I have already looked in Library/Extensions and System/Library/Extensions but they aren't there. My indexing system is not working so I can't run a search for specific files.

    Thanks.

Is the RAM original to the computer or has it been recently upgraded and then the trouble started? I ask because the leading info blocks are similar to some I've seen where bad RAM was an issue. If upgraded later, what brand is the RAM? No all RAM are created equal!

The RAM was upgraded upon purchase, so it has been the same since 2011. I also upgraded the disc speed to 7200rpm and this was also back when I purchased it.

I upgraded to El Capitan a couple of weeks ago, but no problems until now.

I've run disk utility and couldn't seem to find anything there.

I'm currently backing up my HD and running in safe mode.

You could use Spotlight.  If no success, download EasyFind which often does better than Spotlight:

    https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/easyfind/id411673888?mt=12

Uninstall instructions for Little Snitch can be found here:

    https://www.obdev.at/support/index.html?product=LS&topic=faq

    Ciao.

    Thanks for that OGELTHORPE.

Spotlight doesn't work. But I did try EasyFind.

In the end I uninstalled Little Snitch successfully and I think my computer ignored the pace kext somehow and booted up.

Then I found the pace kext in the end  in //System/Library/Extensions/PACESupportFamily.kext

com.paceap.kext.pacesupport.snowleopard  is inside the kext file mentioned above - according to the logs, so I deleted that too.

I have managed to boot up successfully so fingers crossed now! Although I had several malfunctions with the display whilst trying to fix the problems - glitching and refreshing - it got so bad I couldn't see anything on the computer (so I am hoping it is not the graphics card).

Thanks for all your help, I really appreciate it.

Though the kernel panic report did not show any GPU problems, this still may be something your should look into:

    https://www.apple.com/support/macbookpro-videoissues/

I would make an appointment at an Apple store genius bar and have the MBP tested.

    Ciao.
