Q: Slide shows on ATV 4 plays semi random

My new ATV 4 plays slideshows in a random mode even if shuffle is set to off.

As opposed to when shuffle is on the randomness is kind of mixed with the sequential path and not totally random.

 

It doesn't matter if the source library is untouched by Aperture (directly from camera) or inside Aperture or exported from Aperture.

 

My ATV 2 plays the slide shows exactly in the order of the source library.

 

Does anyone else have the same problem and have found a solution?

    I just ran the update to tvOS 9.1.1. As far as I can tell, all issues related to slideshows remain exactly the same, unfixed. Using Ken Burns, with 3 seconds between slides, after 20 or 30 pictures, the repeats start, then it shows a few more pics, more repeats, and so on. I have about 20,000 photos so I haven't had the time to test the screensaver to see if there's any improvement though. But the podcasts app is there now... pathetic.

    mandrieu - I'm running random with 10 sec. between slides and notice that

    while the slides seem to repeat from the same playbook that over time,

    gradually, while slides do recur, still a few new slides creep in so after

    so many minutes the whole rotation is renewed. Maybe  has a diff.

    Tom, I just want to view all my pictures in an album one after the other, photo 1, then 2, 3 ,4 ,5... linearly, with no randomness, repeats, pretty much the way you look at an ehem...  photo album.... Not that difficult to understand from a use case point of view. Your case is different because you want to look at your photos randomly
