Q: How to have all fonts on dropdown menu

Hi, how can I have all my installed fonts on the dropdown menu?

I went from Word to Pages because of the ease of use. I cant imagine there is no way to show those fonts without having to open the annoying font collection whenever I want to change to a custom font?

Thanks for any input.

    Hello OlivierMyre,

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.

I see that you are wanting to view fonts without having to open Font Book when you want to change fonts. If you enable specific fonts in Font Book, you should then be able to see and change to those fonts from within the application. See the following:

    Disable and enable specific fonts

In situations where you'd like to prevent a font from being available in applications, but you don't want to completely remove the font from your Mac, you can use Font Book to disable the font.

    1. In Font Book, click "All Fonts" in the Collection column.
    2. Click the name of the font in the Font column.
    3. Choose Disable "Font Name" Family from the Edit menu.

Fonts that have been disabled have their names displayed in gray text with the word "Off" appearing next to the font's name.

    System fonts can't be disabled.

If you'd like to enable a font that was previously disabled, click the name of the font from the Fonts column, then choose Enable "Font Name" Family from the Edit menu.

You can also disable or enable all fonts in a collection: Click the name of the collection in the Collection column, then choose Disable "Collection Name" or EnableCollection Name" " from the Edit menu.

    Mac Basics: Font Book

Once this has been done, you should then see the fonts in the associated menu in whatever application you are using.

    Best regards.

    Hi Jeff,

Thank you for this answer, unfortunately I have already done this, and validating and all this stuff, but nothing works. It happens with maybe 1 custom font out of 5 (by eye), I see most of my custom fonts, but for some very obscure reason, some of them will never show up on the dropdown menu.

They will be in the Format/Fonts/Show fonts pop-up screen, but this is cumbersome and laggy, and I would like to have the option to have them show in my dropdown menu, for the sole reason that this menu is there for that specific reason: Show me my fonts!

Thanks anyways, still waiting for God's answer on that one...

Click the font drop-down menu in the sidebar & you will see your fonts displayed in the actual type face.
