Q: Screen stuck on Apple ID

Just updated to El Capitan and its stuck on the Apple ID page. I don't know what to do. I'm afraid to force quit.

MacBook Air (13-inch Mid 2012), iOS 7.1.2, Just updated to El Capitan

    Hello Motherglover1,

    Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.

     

    I understand that after updating to OS X El Capitan that you're seeing the screen to login to your Apple ID to get started.  You can either enter your Apple ID and password to continue, or simply click on the skip button below to skip this setup process.  If you're unable to do either of those, then you can force the computer to shut down by pressing and holding on the power button until you see it turn off.

     

    If you can't shut down your Mac because it isn't responding, you can force it to turn off without shutting down. Hold down the power button for 5 seconds, until your Mac turns off. Use this method only when you can't shut down. You'll lose any unsaved changes to documents that you have open.
