Q: Airport Features
Guy Kawasaki posted his Tech Tuesday tip on his Facebook page on the procedure to configure multiple Apple Airport basestations to generate a wider Wi-Fi coverage field.
I’m an Apple fan, but am disenchanted by the Airport’s limitations and isolation from the Apple ecosystem.
- Why doesn't the AirPort Utility have a “Mesh” mode for linking & syncing multiple Wi-Fi base stations under the same SSID/password/encryption/broadcast channel?
- Why doesn’t the AirPort Utility work with all the models of Airport routers?
- Why doesn’t the AirPort/TimeCapsule have an optional web interface? (for users that would prefer to just use a web browser)
- Why don’t the AirPort routers provide AirPrint server capability (like the Lantronix Xprint Server)
- Why doesn’t an AirPort/Time Capsule offer basic file/music/movie serving to iOS and Apple TV devices?
