Apr 14, 2014 8:09 AM in response to JCity156by Ape Chow, this issue IS resolved.
the apple tv screensaver is JUST a screensaver.
you mentioned entertaining... use the slideshow feature and you can select thousands of pictures for it to roll through, in the style you like (ie ken burns or whatever), and all the while playing the music playlist you like.

Apr 14, 2014 7:29 PM in response to Ape Chowby blackcomb_greens,I thank you for the helpful suggestion of an alternative to screen saver. But in slideshow I cannot find the same photo's style as screen saver, ie FLOATING (PHOTOS).
Any ideas?
Thank you

Apr 16, 2014 12:25 PM in response to Ape Chowby proximity,Using the "iCloud-app" on the Apple TV, lets you select a shared photostream with your photos. So that's a plausible workaround. But it's still not we've been asking for.
If the screensaver just did the same thing, everybody would be happy.

Feb 27, 2015 11:52 PM in response to proximityby DVX100Shooter,I notice when I use a shared photo album I created on my iPhone 6 to use as a screen saver on my ATV3, the images don't take up the entire screen. You see the black bars at the top and bottom or on the sides depending on the image. On my ATV 1, my images filled up the entire screen and I have a 106 inch movie screen in my theater. Any ideas how to get my images to fill up the entire screen again?

Mar 30, 2015 11:44 AM in response to msilgalisby nigel.ma,I know the first post was created three years ago, but it annoyed me lots that I couldn't see more than a few photos in the Apple TV screen saver.
I think there have been enough posts in this thread and others that people recognise that the screen saver has a limited maximum size of a couple of hundred images, and there's no automatic way to ask the AppleTV to pick a different few hundred after a while.
I wrote an automator action which I run at 3am each morning which lets me see a different set of 200 images each day - it contains an Apple Script (which I guess means I won't be able to post it here) which quits iTunes, then opens iPhoto, creates an album (or clears it if it already exists), then picks 200 random images from the library and adds them. Finally it quits iPhoto and restarts iTunes.
It seems to work OK - if anyone is interested, then I could post it somewhere!

Jan 28, 2016 7:07 AM in response to nigel.maby collings.bob,I have slightly less than 100 Gb and about 40k pictues...all nicely sorted into folders...I can see the contents of that hard drive in Apple TV..but when I select "slideshow" on any folder, it will play only a few pictues before crashing back to the menu.
Folks, This is a joke. I bought the newest Apple TV with the largest capacity thinking that it would be the most capable device..clearly, it is not.
Apple...are you listening?

Jan 28, 2016 7:18 AM in response to collings.bobby SuperSizeIt,It crashes and reverts back to Ariel whatever screensaver. You then try to select your photo albums from iCloud and it works for a day or two. Then it reverts back to Ariel. lol Apple is not listening. After two updates, no fix whatsoever.

Jan 28, 2016 8:07 AM in response to collings.bobby Protodd,No, Apple is not listening as this is a user to user support community. However, you can send feedback to Apple to voice your dissatisfaction...

Aug 6, 2016 4:34 AM in response to sungyleby mkdc,Same problem in 2016. My album is 500 pictures and it just cycles through the same 50 or so. Very annoying because watching the pictures is my dIghter's favorite thing. New photos I add to album never show up
