Q: How do I start Music Match on my ATV2?

I see that there is a Music Match setting on my ATV2 and I toggled it on, but my music still stream via "family sharing from desktop? Should I turn that off in order to have Music Match work properly on my ATV2?

Obviously I could use a little guidance, thanks very much

    Hi there Henry Cline1,

It sounds like you are looking to enable iTunes Match on your Apple TV. You can sign into iCloud Music Library with your Apple ID in the Settings on the device to turn it on:

In Settings Settings, go to Apps > Music.

Turn on iCloud Music Library. Turn on iCloud Music Library to access all your music from Apple Music, your iTunes purchases, and songs uploaded from your computer, along with your iTunes Match library. To learn more about iTunes Match, go to Subscribe to iTunes Match.

    From: Music settings

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.

I have an ATV2, no Apps.

In the Settings ->iTunes Store settings on my ATV2 there is a "iTunes Match" toggle, which I turned on, but nothing happened (I am a current music match user and running it on my desktop iTunes)

I have been using "Home Sharing", but my desktop has to be on in order to have that working and I would love to avoid that if possible.

Thank you for the update! Next I would quit both the Settings and the Music apps on the Apple TV:

If you have an Apple TV (4th generation), double press the Home button and swipe left or right to find the app with the issue. Swipe up on the app to close it and press Menu to return to the Home screen.

From: Get help with third-party apps on your Apple TV

Then restart the Apple TV and try again:

Restart Apple TV. Do any of the following:

    • Press and hold the Menu and Home Home button buttons until the Apple TV status light blinks rapidly.

    • Disconnect Apple TV from the power outlet, wait five seconds, then reconnect it.

    • In Settings Settings, go to System and select Restart.

I am on at Apple TV 2, the instructions and comments are for a 4th Gen.

I am just wondering if it is possible to use Music Match on a second generation Apple TV

    Thanks very much
