You can't stop the suggestions. Usually you could delete them but I just checked and I'm not sure if it's still possible.

    Thanks for the reply.

Within Mail I can go into the To: field and then click on the info icon next to each suggestion and then delete that suggestion from the recipients list.

Life isn't long enough to do this manual one-by-one editing of the recipients list.

I've basically given up on sending links to webpages from within Safari using email because this has become so cumbersome on the iPad. This is a pity, because it was very convenient for a long time.

Frankly, I could care less who else I sent email to. For the suggestions to place all the irrelevant, useless combinations of recipients at the top of the suggestion list is appallingly poor programming. I would much prefer previous recipients to appear below matches from my Contacts file. All important addresses, both individuals and groups, are in my Contacts file. Adjusting the results sort order to prioritise Contacts entries should be trivial to implement by the developers.

The weird thing is that I don't recall this happening prior to iOS 8.4.1. I've yet to upgrade to 9.x.y on my iPad2.

This issue also exists on my iPhone iOS 9.2.1 but is not as irritating as generally the individual contact is listed at the top.

    I hope Apple is listening.

You are correct the proper way is to tap the info field. Just my luck when I checked earlier the addresses in the letters I chose didn't have the info tab.

You'l need to use the link below if you want Apple to hear you.
