I can't restore my 4th gen shuffle (i get error code 1429)

Suffle stopped mid-song and won't retart

A:

A Reset (restart) for a shuffle is to put the power switch in the OFF position for at least 10 seconds.

If you are able to initiate a Restore using iTunes, that must mean the shuffle still appears in iTunes when connected. This is Apple's document with advice for that error.

If you see error 1415, 1417, 1418, 1428, 1429, 1430, 1436, or 1439 when restoring or updating an iPod in iTunes - Apple …
