Jan 30, 2016 12:56 PM in response to CiCo66by Kappy,If it's not from Apple, then you cannot get it serviced. "From a guy" suggests you may have been taken or already registered it under his name. The best you can hope to do is make an appointment at the Apple Retail Store - Genius Bar and take it in for service. If you are not in the USA or cannot set up an appointment this way, then contact your local Apple Store directly. Perhaps they can help you.

Jan 30, 2016 12:58 PM in response to Kappyby CiCo66,He could not register it on his name since it was sealed. I am practically the first user.

Jan 30, 2016 1:06 PM in response to CiCo66by Kappy,You bought it from a stranger. You don't know a thing about him or it. He might have sealed a stolen computer in an opened box for all you know. In any event we can't help you because the serial number is in the hardware in firmware you cannot change without knowing what to do and having the equipment to do it.

Jan 30, 2016 1:27 PM in response to Kappyby CiCo66,I never buy stolen things. The receipt was provided. The box and the mac has the same SN. You should read first instead of accusing people of healing. I even got the mail address and phone number of the guy!

Jan 30, 2016 1:30 PM in response to CiCo66by steve359,Apple is the one telling you the SN is invalid. Best explanations we (who are NOT Apple, just other users) can guess are the SN is false or already registered by looking at the SN on the outside of the box.
Talk to Apple at a store. We may be proven wrong, or we may be proven correct.
