Q: Sprint iPhone 6s (9.1.2) changes YEAR to 2055

My phone has been having this issue since the day I got it. It will just randomly change the date to the year 2055 which currently tells me it's Friday April 30. 2055 at 11:16pm ET. There's nothing that I've noticed that causes this to happen. It's sporadic. Sometimes I can fix it by furiously switching airplane mode on and off or doing the same with "Set Automatically" under date and time. Other times it simply resolves itself. This wouldn't be such an issue to me but when this does happen, it renders any app that uses internet completely useless.

Read How do I fix the date on my iPad calendar. My son set it to the year 2055 BE for a possible solution.

Ive attempted to reset it manually, too. I can get to the current date but it still displays the wrong year which like I said, renders my apps using wifi or data completely useless. The longest it has lasted was from 9:00pm last night until 2 pm today when it corrected itself

Bmhuffman,

If you cannot contact http://www.apple.com/support/contact/ , I would consider How to erase your iOS device and then set it up as a new device or restore it from backups - Apple Support.

How was your problem resolved? I got an iphone 6s from verizon in July 2016 and am experiencing the same problem but no one at apple or verizon seem to have ever heard of it before nor know how to fix it.

So, you went to Settings>General>Language & Region>Calendar and set it to Gregorian?
