Jan 30, 2016 1:27 PM in response to UnoSmartby FoxFifth,The article you started from ( Sync photos from your computer to your iOS device using iTunes - Apple Support ) is about iTunes photo syncing. Note that iTunes sync moves photos the other direction (from the computer to your phone) and is not involved in moving photos from the phone to the computer. There aren't any settings on the phone itself that are needed for doing that via a USB cable connection. See Import photos and videos from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch to your computer - Apple Support

Jan 30, 2016 1:28 PM in response to UnoSmartby gail from maine,Photos are not copied as a part of the sync. They must be imported as outlined in the article you linked from. The option initiate an automatic import would be an option in whatever photos app you are using for importing your photos.
Best of luck,

Jan 30, 2016 2:48 PM in response to UnoSmartby LACAllen,You could use iCloud and install iCloud for Windows and sync your photos that way.
Any photos created on your phone will be synced with your PC.
