Dec 31, 2015 9:15 AM in response to CertEdFridayby Brett L,★HelpfulHey CertEdFriday,
If you appear to have some updates in the App Store on your iPhone, but when you try to update the App Store does not let you, showing instead an "Open" button, there are some troubleshooting steps I would suggest.
First, quit all apps, including the App Store, and try again -
If the issue is still present, uninstall the apps showing updates available - Delete music, movies, apps, and other content from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - and download it and reinstall it - Download your past purchases.
Delete an app
Remove an app using the steps below:
You might be asked to confirm that you want to delete the app. If you see a pop-up that says, "Deleting [app name] will also delete all of its data," tap Delete.
And -
Redownload an app
On an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
Happy computing.

Dec 31, 2015 9:06 AM in response to Brett Lby Lonelywind,This seems to be happening to a lot of people, from what I'm seeing on Internet searches. I'm having this issue on two devices all of a sudden. So does everybody need to just delete and reinstall apps to make this go away, or can we admit that there is an issue with the App Store (and fix it)?

Dec 31, 2015 9:20 AM in response to Lonelywindby CertEdFriday,In the end I deleted all my apps and turned off all the App settings, rebooted the iPad and then switched App store back to normal settings followed by downloading my apps again. All seems to be ok at the moment! No issues on my iPhone or iPad 2 it was just the iPad Air!
Hope you get it sorted.

Dec 31, 2015 9:23 AM in response to CertEdFridayby Lonelywind,Thanks. My point is that Apple needs to look into what is going on, I'm seeing several reports of this on Google searches, YouTube, etc. in the past week or two, and since it's happening on both my iPhone and iPad, it's probably not just my device. I think either iOS 9.2 or the App Store is having issues.

Dec 31, 2015 9:51 AM in response to Lonelywindby CertEdFriday,I suspect iOS 9.2 as this all seems to have started post installation of 9.2. I don't expect anything from Apple anytime soon though. The next update will no doubt contain "Bug" Fixes. :-)

Jan 31, 2016 12:26 AM in response to Lonelywindby RedHatPhoto,I'm having the same issue. It may be just an annoyance but it IS annoying and it seems to affect numerous users. From what I can see on the various forums it has been cropping up intermittently since the introduction of IOS 7.
It seems strange that it doesn't appear to come up on the official support site or that Apple hasn't been able to effectively resolve it since 2013!
