Jan 31, 2016 1:40 PM in response to drgermby Allan Eckert,In your statement of the problem you say you are running El Capitan but in the specs for your Mac you list version 10.10.5 which is Yosemite and not El Capitan.
So which is it? It can't be both.

Jan 31, 2016 2:31 PM in response to Allan Eckertby drgerm,Yes you are correct. Brand new Mac Pro. I thought it would be running the latest version of the operating system.
I'll have to re post this to the Yosemite forum.
I apologize for not paying attention.

Feb 5, 2016 8:21 AM in response to Allan Eckertby yastro,I'm running 10.11.3 and my external DVD drive is no longer recognized. Plugging into the USB port is providing power as usual. It's not an issue with the DVD drive.
I tried restarting in safe mode, resetting PRAM, etc. Nothing is helping.
Others have found the same issue:
MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Late 2013)
Processor: 2.4 GHz Intel Core i5
Memory: 4 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
