Q: have my Apple TV plugged in but not getting any type of set up screen

have tried to install Apple TV - purchased last year at same time I purchased new TV. I have it hooked up, the light is on but don't see a set-up screen to try to connect to my wi-fi, etc.

MacBook Pro, iOS 6, bluetooth numeric keypad

Make sure your TV is set to the correct input
