Q: flatbed scanner hookup

My husband is considering getting a Macbook as he is tired of window updating all the time. He does alot of scanning with our Epson flatbed scanner.

Can a Macbook handle the scanning alot-what model is the best for it? Or any other one of the Mac family. I have a mini ipad and love it and he plays around with it-but does not use it to scan as it is just a mini ipad. But, while he has not used a Macbook before he is a little familiar with apple.

I would appreciate any info with this.

Thank you.

Our son swears by Apple.

    HI Carol

I went through all this. The best thing to do is once you have decided which MacBook you are getting, go to the website of the printer manufacture like Epson. Query them on a compatible printer for your MacBook. That way you will know which actually work with Macs and which models. I went through 3 printers to get one to actually work with my G4 way back when. Then when I got my iMac, the printer and computer could scan but it would not print in colours. So this time I went straight to Epson and asked them. An All-in-one works wonderful and I got the wi-if model so I can print from my iPad too.

Since you already have an Epson, you might want to check which MacBook it is compatible with. If any.

    Good luck with your choices
