Q: MPEG2 Transport stream for cable

Our local cable company has new equipment. They are asking us to export our video files as MPEG2 Transport Stream, single pass CBR. I can adjust all of the settings they have asked for except change the audio to Mono at a lower kHz. Anyone know of a way to do this? On all of the built-ins the audio is locked.

Thanks,

Don't believe Compressor can output those specs. If I'm wrong about that, someone else will chime in and show us how. There may be an easy way – going to Logic and back, but others will have to weigh in on that as well.

Meanwhile, you might check out Squeeze. Download the trial and see whether it gives you what you need.

We use to have Squeeze a long time ago. I'll take a look at it again.

Downloaded the trial for Squeeze and all of it's Transport Stream setting and sent tests over to the cable company. Did not work. Anyone know of other software for the Mac that might let us convert to this?

Compressor can do everything but make it mono.  You'd need to edit it as mono in FCPX, at the sample rate required, then send that to Compressor for your MPEG-2 Transport Stream.

Along the same lines as the original question, I want to change the sample rate to 44.1, instead of 48khz.  It is locked at 48khz.  How do I change that, or can I.  Same as locked at Stereo.

Went into the FCPX project, located the project properties. Lowest it will let me change it is 32 khz. Is there another place to change the sample rate before sending to compressor? And, once there, if I use the same Transport settings that is locked on stereo, will that override the settings coming from FCPX?
