Feb 1, 2016 11:43 AM in response to samirnycby my ginger,If the software did not come from apple, you should not have allowed it to install. If by chance this is through ICloud, it can be fixed. If it is through find my mac, you have to take it to an apple store to fix it. You would need a proof of purchase. Do you remember what the name of the software was? If this is a new computer, it comes with a 1 year warranty from apple.

Feb 1, 2016 11:52 AM in response to samirnycby my ginger,I will add. That only software that you yourself download or for apple should ever be installed. On the newer operating systems, all update come through the app store. There is, on the bottom a serial number and model number. Only an authorized apple retailer could check it to see who it is assigned to.

Feb 1, 2016 11:54 AM in response to my gingerby samirnyc,Yes, I should have known better. It was a pesky Notification that popped up every 10 minutes or so and there was no way to make it stop so I clicked accept or something along those lines. It was a mistake for sure. The seller does't have the receipt and neither do I of course.

Feb 1, 2016 12:09 PM in response to my gingerby samirnyc,Apple wouldn't give out that kind of information. If it is stolen I would like to return it but I have no idea how to go about that.

Feb 1, 2016 12:37 PM in response to samirnycby my ginger,I have no way to know who you bought it from, or what kind of agreement you have with the seller. If you paid for it by check or credit card then you have a receipt. You would need a copy of it.
