    google translation

Hello, can we meet 2 Photos libraries that I have to import images on to a new computer in order to have only one library?

Unfortunately the translation of your question is not really clear and I have enough trouble with English and know very little French (just enough to order Food and wine when visiting your beautiful country)

I think you are concerned about having both the original iPhoto library that was migrated and the new Photos library - the simple answer is not to worry and not to delete the iPhoto library for several months since you may want or need it and deleting it will return very little disk space as the originals and previews are shared using hard links - Photos saves disk space by sharing images with your iPhoto or Aperture libraries - Apple Support

You can safely delete the iPhoto library but since it saves little space and you might want or need it in the future it is recommended tha tyou do not

Thank you LarryHN for your answer,

Google translation is not perfect but thanks for trying ;-)

Actually my problem is that I had 2 different MacBooks, with 2 different photos libraries. I bought a new iMac computer and I now want to import my 2 libraries and at the end, if possible, combine them into 1 on my new computer. Do you think it's possible in an easy way? If not, I was thinking to export one of the two library's photos to the other one on the old MacBook, and then import them into the new computer library. Sounds stupid? But if I do that, what about the exported photos, do they keep the same qualities as if they were the originals? To the extent possible, I would like to keep all photos in their original format.

    What do you think?

Thank you in advance for your help.

    Carine

You want to merge libraries - that is not a feature of either iPhoto or Photos - Aperture can

And iPhoto Library Manager can merge iPhotos libraries

And PowerPhotos can merge Photos libraries

Exporting from one library and importing into another is a poor mans work around losing all edit history and giving you one version (either the edited or the original) of the exported photos - to me the small cost of PowerPhotos is well worth it and it is a great utility going forward and as to quality that is something you set when you export - it can be the same or worse as the original - same for format - it is an export parameter
