Feb 1, 2016 4:42 PM in response to zb223by ChrisJ4203,This is part of the new app thinning (I believe that is what that was called) to try and keep the amount of space down. You will still be able to restore your apps via the Purchased section in iTunes.

Feb 1, 2016 4:43 PM in response to zb223by Demo,That's the way that it works now. Apps are now "thinned" and when you download an app on a device, you only get what you need for that device. In other words, if an app is a universal app that works on an iPhone, an iPad and an iPod Touch, you only get the features that will work or are necessary for the device on which you are downloading. This saves space on your device since you only download what you need for the device.
The only way around this is to set iTunes to download apps automatically so that when you download them on one device, they are downloaded into iTunes as well.
