Q: Siri cannot complete request recently

Looking for a few pointers from fellow Apple fans. Recently, I reset all settings (not erase) and had to re-pair my Apple Watch, etc due to an issue I was having. After getting back in action and re-allowing access in most of my apps to system services I've noticed Siri pauses and the bombs out of a couple requests I've had lately:

"Siri show me traffic" ... "OK HERES THE TRAFFIC..."  "UH OH, SOMETHING's WRONG CAN YOU TRY AGAIN?"

or

"Siri call Noodles Asian" ... "Ok call Noodles Asian at 1234 Atlantic road?" ... "Yes" .... "OK CALLING NOODLES ASIAN" ... "IM SORRY I CANNOT MAKE YOUR CALL."

What is going on? I even just reset location settings and this did not fix it. I'm on an iPhone 6 on iOS 9.2.1.

    Hello AdamAndrew,

Thanks for using the Apple Support Communities!

I understand that Siri sometimes doesn’t respond the way you would expect. We know that situations like this can be frustrating, but we are here to help.

To begin troubleshooting, I suggest working through the suggested steps located in the following article.

If Siri isn't available, or doesn't understand or respond to questions

After each step, see if you still need help:

    1. Make sure that your iOS device has an Internet connection through Wi-Fi or cellular data.
    2. On your iOS device, make sure that Siri is turned on under Settings > General > Siri.
    3. Restart your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.
    4. On your iOS device, go to Settings > General > Siri and turn off Siri. Then turn it on again.
    5. Make sure that the microphones on your device aren't blocked. For example, if your device has a protective case, remove it.
    6. If you're using an iOS device, try to use Siri with a headset. If Siri works, get more help with the microphones on your device.
    7. Contact Apple Support.

Use Siri on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support

    Cheers!

    I SOLVED IT!!

What did NOT work is trying the steps above in isolated fashion. Because I had tried most of those including turning my phone off, then back on but the issue persisted.

IF you ever have this issue go to settings- Privacy- Location Services and set Siri & Dictation to "Never". Power off. Plower back on and return to that setting to change it to "While using the app" and BOOM! Back in action with location-based requests like "Where's Brian?" Or "Call noodles Asian."

OK there is a bug or something here. NOTHING changed but this morning the same requests do not go through again. So my fix was temporary? Makes no sense whatsoever. Very frustrating.
