Q: my iTunes will not open or force quit

My iTunes was working fine then all of a sudden it just closed, now when i click on it it turns dark grey, then goes back to its normal colour, when i try to force quit it does't work and when i try to shut down or restart my computer it says it can't because iTunes is open, someone please help!!!!
